Oral Surgeon Dr. Au
Dr. Justin Au is an assistant professor and residency program director of the University at Buffalo, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department. He was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Queen’s University in Kingston, ON for his undergraduate degree and went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University and his Doctor of Medicine at University at Buffalo. He then completed a 6 year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at the University at Buffalo including a year of general surgery and a year as chief resident. He went on to co-found and become associate program director at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA before returning to the University at Buffalo.
He is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as a board certified fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, FRCD(C). He holds membership in American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He has authored and co-authored multiple publications and has lectured at seminars, conferences and grand rounds across the country. Dr. Au has traveled and served internationally on multiple medical and dental mission trips to South America and Africa.
He practices full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery and has a special interest and expertise in orthognathic surgery, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, benign pathology and reconstruction and inferior alveolar and lingual nerve repair.
Outside of his clinical practice, he enjoys spending time hiking and traveling with his wife, three children and dog.
