Oral Surgeon Dr. Campbell
Dr. Campbell is a native of Schenectady, NY, and a graduate of LeMoyne College and the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He completed residencies in Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Rochester, and was a founder and medical director of the Orofacial Medicine Clinic at Sisters Hospital. At the University of Michigan,he was director of undergraduate oral surgery and implant surgery in the Department of Oral Medicine, Pathology, and Surgery. He later taught at Indiana University as undergraduate director and residency director of oral surgery before moving to Buffalo to direct the UB oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training program.
Dr. Campbell has authored over 65 contributions to the scientific literature and participated in 18 scientific grants and contracts generating nearly $400,000 in funding. He serves a section editor for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the premier clinical journal in the field, in addition to reviewing articles for publication in several other journals. His clinical and research interests include dental and implant surgery, facial trauma, pathology of the jaws, and surgery of the temporomandibular joint. His research findings have been presented nationally and internationally, and he regularly provides continuing education courses in oral surgery to dentists and dental specialists.
In addition to his surgery practice, Dr. Campbell holds U.S.Coast Guard certification as a 25-ton Master (Captain) for charter excursions on inland waterways. He can often be found cruising the St. Lawrence River with family and friends.
